Fault diagnosis for the Dump Truck A/C system

The Dump Truck A/C system consists of radiator, compressor, integrated condenser, evaporator and fan which are connected as a closed system with pipes. Please see the following common Fault diagnosis for the A/C system:


1. High pressure is low

If the system leaks, do leakage detection and repair.

If the air return valve is closed, open it.

If there is a lack of refrigerant, add refrigerant.

If the air return valve of compressor leaks, replace the valve.

If the leaf valve of compressor is damaged, replace it.


2. High pressure is too high

If there is air in the system, refill the system with refrigerant.

If the condenser is blocked, clean the condenser.

If the exhaust valve is closed, open it.

If there is excessive refrigerant, discharge the extra.


3. Low air return pressure

If there is a lack of refrigerant, add refrigerant.

If the compressor piston is worn, repair it.

If the compressor cylinder gasket leaks, replace the cylinder gasket.

If the hose is twisted or squeezed flat, replace the hose.

If the air return valve of compressor leaks, replace the valve plate.


4. High air return pressure

If the sensing bulb of expansion valve is loose, tighten the sensing bulb clamp.

If there is excessive refrigerant, discharge the extra.

If the compressor leaf is damaged, replace the leaf.

If the compressor cylinder gasket leaks, replace the cylinder gasket.


5. Compressor does not work

If the drive belt is damaged, replace the belt.

If the clutch conductor is damaged, replace the conductor.

If the compressor piston is damaged, replace the compressor.

If the thermostatic switch is in failure, replace the thermostatic switch.

If the clutch coil is damaged, replace the coil.


6. Poor refrigeration effect

If the coil is frozen; the set temperature is too high, turn the thermostatic switch downward to defrost it.

If hot air enters cab, close the door from which hot air comes.

If there is a lack of refrigerant, add refrigerant.

If the thermostatic switch is in failure, replace the thermostatic switch.


7. Evaporator coil gets frozen.

If the adjustment of thermostatic switch is inappropriate, adjust it to operating condition.

If the volume of air via evaporator is insufficient, check evaporator fan.


8. Belt is in failure

If the belt pulley is not properly aligned, adjust the axial position of belt pulley.

If the belt is too tight or loose, adjust it correctly.

If the size and specification of belt is incorrect, replace it.

If the idler bearing is damaged, replace the bearing.


9. Fan does not work.

If the fan Fuse is burnt out, replace it.

If the control switch is in failure, replace it.

If the fan motor is damaged, replace it.

If the motor voltage is low, check conductor.

If the fan is in poor contact, check and repair it.


10. Fan rotates slowly.

If the conductor is loose or in short circuit, do troubleshooting.

If the rotor shaft is bending, replace it.

If the controller resistor is burnt out, replace the resistor.

If the voltage is insufficient, check the alternator.


11. Hose or joint leaks.

If joint leaks, repair or replace it.

If hose leaks, replace the hose.
